Ben Aldridge and the team at 30 Foot Drop are proud to present a fully funded program called 2 Wise Monkeys - a workshop series that seeks to help both executives and people working with customers to change their view on disabilities.

New penalties for OSH breaches

OSH PenaltiesPenalties for breaches of Western Australia’s workplace health and safety laws increased on 3 October 2018. The new penalties are consistent with the national model Work Health and Safety Act (Model Act), with a further 14 per cent increase for inflation since 2010.

Examples for a first offence by a body corporate include:

• Level 1 penalties increase from $50,000 to $450,000.
• Level 4 penalties increase from $500,000 to $2.7 million.

Terms of imprisonment for individual offenders have increased from two to five years for level 4 offences.

The new penalties operate in workplaces covered by the Mines Safety and Inspection Act 1994 and the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1984.  Download the amendment here.

Lateral Leaders Program

Go Geo and Combined Team Services have teamed up to deliver the Lateral Leaders Program, set to start in October.

The Lateral Leaders Program is designed to create a culture of lateral leadership within the Bunbury Geographe region, listening to and learning from existing and proven leaders.

Believing that not all learning needs to be book based, especially with entrepreneurial, lateral thinking individuals who are more creative in a hands-on approach than they are studious, the Lateral Leaders Program is hands-on, delivering live projects in teams throughout the region. These projects include looking at project plans and feasibilities for combatting empty shops within the CBD, exporting regional produce to international markets, event planning for cruise ship passenger arrivals, and attracting international sporting bodies to the region.

The Lateral Leaders Program will be run concurrently in 2 streams – one for students looking to receive a Diploma of Leadership and Management, as well as those attending individual sessions for Personal Development.  More information is available on the Go Geo website - or send us your expression of interest via our website.  Enrolment in the Nationally Recognised Qualification is only available at a discounted price for participants who are registered to attend the Lateral Leadership Program.
