RIIRIS501E Implement and maintain management systems to control risk

This three day course covers the following topics:

- Plan and prepare to develop the framework for the risk management system
- Develop the processes to support the risk management system
- Plan and implement the risk management system
- Monitor, review and update the risk management processes

Depending on class size and your experience you may be required to submit some tasks after your attendance at the three day workshop.

Recommended Pre-requisites

It is expected that participants will have already completed the following two units prior to attendance at this course:

- BSBWHS411 Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs

- BSBWHS414 Contribute to WHS risk management

It is also expected that participants will have been working at a mine for at least two years in a supervisory position. To participate fully and to ensure the program is relevant to your role we ask that you bring a copy of your mines Safety Management Plan and Safety Policy. You will also be asked to bring two site Principal Mining Hazard Plans from a list which will be sent to you on enrolment.

Classroom copies of the WHS Act and Regs are available for participants to use during the course.

If participants wish they can purchase their own copies of the Acts and Regs. Costs for Acts/Regulations are as follows - WHS Health and Safety Act 2020 - $33.00, Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022 - $77.00. Please advise before attendance if you wish to purchase these.
