Details
Supervisors have the authority and responsibility to create and support a workplace culture that promotes safe work practices and take their responsibilities under safety legislation seriously.
Let's face it, the health, safety and wellness of the people we work with is serious business, and it's important that supervisors understand how to practically apply their duty of care obligations on a daily basis.
During this one day workshop participants will learn about the following:
- Business effects of accidents and incidents.
- Statistics (LTI's, deaths, frequencies).
- WHS legislative framework.
- Exploration of duty of care legislation for all duty holders including:
- How managers and supervisors can practically effect their duty of care obligations
- How the Code of Conduct and Organisational Values are reflected in these duties
- Shared duties with contractor management
- Construction work requirements - SMP's High Risk Work and SWMS
- Case studies and prosecutions of "when it all goes wrong"
- WHS issue resolution/formal consultation and sorting out issues "in house".
- Application of risk management processes.
- Critical incident management, reporting requirements, accident investigation fundamentals, purpose and methods.
- Where to from here - how to improve your safety culture
This is an interactive and engaging workshop is held in Bunbury or can be delivered in the workplace by request. The course includes comprehensive resources, morning tea, light lunch and afternoon tea. Participants are encouraged to bring their own devices.

8.30 am - 4.00 pm.
Training day attire
Neat, tidy clothing and closed footwear.
