CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry

About the course

CTS offer high quality, face to face training for the White Card in Bunbury and the South West. White Card training is mandatory for anyone working in the construction industry.

The number of injuries and fatalities that continue to occur despite completing mandatory white card training tells us that people still miss or ignore the common hazards and risks in the construction industry.

If you consider that new and young workers are 5 times more likely to be injured in their first month on the job then quality face to face training for working in the high risk construction industry makes very good sense. Learning first hand from trainers who are out on construction sites will help you understand the range of hazards you can encounter and what you need to do to keep yourself and your workmates safe on the job.

The Work Health and Safety Regulations 2022 set out mandatory requirements for the provision of construction safety induction training, for a person conducting a business or undertaking ensuring that general construction induction training is provided to workers doing construction work at a workplace in Western Australia.

The White Card meets these requirements. Anyone who is currently working on a construction site, or who wants to is required to complete this training. Students who complete this training will receive a Statement of Attainment for CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work in the construction industry and a White Card wallet card.

We can schedule a face to face course for your workgroup. Face to face training gives you the opportunity to interact with other participants and to ask questions of our fully qualified trainer. Students learn first-hand from trainers who are out on construction sites conducting safety audits. Students must live and/or work in Western Australia at the time of assessment.

  • Face to face training in a group setting - 6 hours. White card is issued on the day of successful completion. Minimum numbers are required to run this course.

Participants working in the construction industry may be eligible for a subsidy through the Building Construction Fund.
