About the course
Develop the knowledge and skills to apply Safety and Health legislation. This course teaches you relevant skills on how to be a meaningful Safety Officer, provide leadership, have some responsibility for the output of others and provide guidance to others.
This qualification is advertised on the Jobs & Skills website as Fee Free.
However, Jobs & Skills WA will not fund you if you wish to study fully online. You must attend classroom training to access the Fee Free funding.
Fee Free Places are limited and subject to Job & Skills funding rules.
Classroom Days
We offer classroom training each month. Depending on numbers different venues are used. These face to face training days are available to enrolled CTS students free of charge. Please advise us by email that you are attending or book online.
Each month we will focus on a different unit.

Methods of delivery
- Online learning and assessment options are available.
- Face to face training days are held at Bunbury for enrolled students.
- Students will need to be employed in an industry or role that will support evidence collection and workplace skill implementation.
- If Students do not have access to relevant policies, procedures, systems and/or documentation related to the qualification throughout the term of the qualification simulated workplace documents are available.
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available.
All candidates have the full support of their trainer who will be in regular contact via phone, email, skype, Zoom or face to face scheduled appointments in the workplace and at our training rooms.
Fees
A full breakdown of fees will be provided prior to commencement once unit selections have been made. Eligible candidates will be charged as per the Fees and Charges set by the current WA VET Fees and Charges Policy.
A subsidy may be available through the Construction Training Fund for eligible candidates.
Fee for Service 2024 - Bunbury
- Tuition Fees: WHS units $300 per unit, Leadership units $350 per unit
- Resource Fees: $11.00 per unit
- Credit Transfer: $0.00
- If trainer is requested to travel outside the Bunbury area to meet with student additional costs will apply.
New Worker Traineeships 2024
- Tuition Fees: Indicative fees $1413
- Resource Fees: $11 per unit
- Credit Transfer: $0.00
Existing Workers - non traineeships
- Tuition Fees: Fee Free - Funding through Jobs and Skills WA if you attend classes in Bunbury.
NB. Students will be required to obtain their own books from our provided booklist (direct from the supplier) dependent on some electives.
